Mark Cavendish's track return to continue at Dudenhofen GP

Mark Cavendish is serious about competing on the track at Rio 2016 and proved his comeback to the boards was not a one-off at this weekend's Revolution Series by committing to the Dudenhofen GP at the end of August.

The Etixx-Quick-Step rider is on the trail of the Olympic and World Cup qualification points on offer at the meet in Germany on August 28-29.

Cavendish needs just 10 more points to be eligible for selection to ride the omnium the Olympics next year and also needs to pick up points in Dudenhofen to be in contention for selection to this winter's World Cup events.

“Mark made a very promising start back on the track in Derby and he’ll be looking to continue building on that form and gain more points for his ranking," said British Cycling's Iain Dyer.

Jon Dibben, Ollie Wood, Manon Lloyd, Laura Trott and Katie Archibald are the endurance riders in the British squad for Dudenhofen, with a host of sprinters, including Katy Marchant and Becky James, making up the remainder of the team.
