As he had predicted, David Millar (Saunier Duval) did a not have a great day in the Tour de France prologue, finishing thirteenth, 33 seconds behind Fabian Cancellara (CSC).

Millar was not disappointed with his performance and clearly seemed to enjoy riding in front of an estimated one million fans on the London circuit.

?I did my best and gave it everything, so I?m not disappointed with my performance. I?m happy with my time,? Millar said on television after his ride.

?I?m really sorry for Bradley Wiggins but it was a great day for cycling. To tell the truth I wasn?t really up for the win. I?ve had a tough two months but knew I wasn?t really in with a chance and so tired to enjoy it. The crowd was amazing and it was a fabulous day for British cycling. The crowd were cheering Dave, Dave all the way round the course. It was magic. I hope it can be the start of a Renaissance for cycling.?
