While Eddy Merckx used to ride the crits with the same intensity as he did any other race, Sagan uses the opportunity to give the fans what they want.

The criterium series continues to the end of July, with Sagan due to race at the Profronde van Lommel in Belgium on Wednesday, while Nairo Quintana is down to appear at Criterium Herentals on Thursday.
