Police are looking for a group of teenagers suspected of pushing a female cyclist into the Regent's Canal in East London on Thursday evening.

The woman was riding along the towpath between Commercial Road and Salmon Lane in Limehouse at around 7.30pm when she reportedly noticed the group walking towards her.

According to London 24, the cyclist slowed down as she passed and heard one shout an order to push her in, before one of the female members lunged at her and pushed her.

She was rescued from the water by a passing jogger, suffering shock and grazing. While in the water she reportedly saw the group running through the Commercial Road foot tunnel towards Limehouse DLR station.

Police describe the teens as a group of five or six Asian boys and girls between the age of 16 and 18 years. The female who pushed the victim had long dark hair and was wearing sunglasses.
