The Pro Cycling Manager game has been overhauled for 2012, with a new version of the in-depth PC cycling team management simulator set for release on June 22.

You can now choose from 80 teams and 180 races throughout the season, including the Tour de France. The idea is to create a team, train, manage and follow them in their exploits throughout the cycling season.

Both the quality of graphics and the artificial intellgence of your digital opponents have been uprated for 2012 to improve the playing experience.

In addition, the game now boasts a multiplayer mode where you can challenge real, live human opponents online. Bye bye evenings.

Pro Cycling Manager 2012 runs on PC with Windows XP, Vista or 7. A ‘Tour de France’ version of the game is also available for XBox 360 and PS3.

Can’t wait. I’ve had every version since the original Cycling Manager however many years ago. Some versions have been of dubious quality, but more recently it has been more consistent. The new features, such as the additional teams and division will be well received. The series also has a great community, who produce new stages, database updates and everything else you could ever want.

Personal highlights from the 2011 version are splitting races to pieces in crosswinds in Qatar and decimating fields in mountain stages.
