Team Sky's Richie Porte will be opening The Cycle Show at Birmingham's NEC on Friday, September 25, as a long list of stars appearing at the show is announced.

Porte, who will leave Sky for BMC Racing in 2016, will join ITV's Ned Boulting on the stage later in the afternoon to discuss his time with the British team and his future with BMC.

“I’m really looking forward to visiting The Cycle Show this year,” said Porte. “I’ve enjoyed it when I have had a chance to ride in Britain, so it will be great to meet some of the British cycling fans that have supported me throughout my career.”

Following his successful appearance in 2014, former Hour Record holder Jens Voigt will return to The Cycle Show as part of his collaboration with Trek Bikes. Sean Kelly, Stephen Roche and Magnus Backstedt will also take to the stage as part of the Meet the Legends sessions.

What's more, Martyn Ashton, the star of the Road Bike Party series who was paralysed in 2013 after a trials bike accident, will be discussing his recovery and his latest exploits on specially adapted bikes.

The Cycle Show will run at the NEC between September 25-27, with tickets available from www.cycleshow.co.uk.
