Erick Rowsell continued Endura Racing’s incredible record of results in France this year by soloing to victory in stage five of the Tour de Normandie this afternoon.

Rowsell, who joined the team for 2012 following three years as part of British Cycling’s Olympic Academy, attacked 5km from the end of the 190km stage to Flers and held off the chasing peloton by nine seconds.

Current Academy rider Simon Yates took fourth on the line.

His victory comes a day after Ian Wilkinson opened his account for the year by sprinting to victory in the race’s third stage.

More to follow.

Another great win for Endura. Pity we have so few opportunities to see these guys ride in home races against similar level competition.
