With the queen stage of Tirreno-Adriatico cancelled on Sunday, the relatively innocuous 10km time trial to conclude the race on Tuesday will now play a huge role in deciding the overall winner.

Greg Van Avermaet (BMC) won Monday's stage six to move into the overall lead by seven seconds over Zdenek Stybar (Etixx-Quick Step), but his time trialling is not up the standard of one of the other members of the top 10.
