The Friday Quiz: Identify these Tour Down Under stage winners

The first WorldTour race of the year starts next week, can how well do you remember these previous stage winners from the Tour Down Under?

For many purists the cycling season doesn't really start until riders are battling the rain and mud on Northern Europe's cobblestone roads. But even so, the Tour Down Under carries a WorldTour ranking and attracts many of the top riders over for a week or two in the sun.

For some riders this marks the beginning of what then turns out to be a stellar season. For others, as was the case last year for Marcel Kittel, winning sprints in Australia won't necessarily translate into year long success.

Another spinter who has a fondness for the warmer climes is André Greipel who has won a record 16 TDU stages. He is not making his return to the race this year and also doesn't make it into today's quiz.

The Australian race kicks off on Tuesday January 19, and so we have dedicated this week's cycling quiz to stage winners from some of the previous 17 editions.

See how you get on and share the quiz with your cycling friends to see who's best at identifying riders.
