Tony Martin (HTC-Columbia) sealed the 2010 Eneco Tour overall victory in Genk, Belgium, on Tuesday by winning the final time trial stage.

Race leader Martin was favourite for the stage win going into the final, decisive 16.9km test against the clock. Only Koos Moerenhout (Rabobank) was within striking distance of the German, 11 second adrift before the stage.

However, Moerenhout could not answer Martin’s turn of speed and finished fifth on the stage, and 31 seconds behind Martin in the final overall classification.

Team Sky’s Edvald Boasson Hagen placed sixth in the final stage to take third place overall, one minute and 46 seconds behind Martin. The Norwegian also came away with the sprint classification jersey.

Britain’s Geraint Thomas (Team Sky) placed 15th in the final stage, 48 seconds behind Martin. Thomas also finished as highest-placed British rider in 66th spot overall.
