The 2010 Tour of Britain starts on Saturday, September 11, in Rochdale and finishes on Saturday, September 18, in London.

A total of 17 teams have signed up for the 2010 race, and include a mixture of ProTour, Continental, British and Irish squads. Each team consists of six riders, bringing the total start list to 102 participants.

This year’s start list boasts a host of star names from at home and abroad: Bradley Wiggins (Sky), Geraint Thomas (Team Sky), Andre Greipel (HTC-Columbia), Kristian House (Rapha-Condor-Sharp), Daniel Martin (Garmin-Transitions), Ed Clancy (Motorpoint-Marshalls Pasta) and Roger Hammond (Cervelo) to name but a few.

One rider not on the list is 2009 Tour of Britain winner Edvald Boasson Hagen. The Norwegian won the race for the Columbia squad last year before signing for Team Sky for the 2011 season, but does not return to defend the win this year.

British road race national champion Geraint Thomas (Team Sky) wears the number one plate.

Cycling Weekly will be covering the 2010 Tour of Britain in full, with breaking news, race reports and exclusive photography.

Please note that this is a provisional start list and will be updated to reflect any changes before the race start.

Team Sky go green for Tour of Britain

  • Ryan

Can,t wait for this race and i,ll get to see it once and possibly 3 times when it comes through suffolk and within a couple of miles from my house and in my area where it should be every year i think. We have great roads for racing on around here. I think Colombia have a very very strong chance along with Team Sky to win the race. Can,t wait to see Wiggo,Greipel and Renshaw.
