With just days to go before the 2008 world track championships start in Manchester, we thought we’d give you a taste of things to come with a look back at some of the most memorable moments from 2007

The British team stormed the world champs in Majorca last year, winning seven gold medals and dominating the event, leaving the other countries scratching their heads, wondering what they were going to do next. This year’s event carries even more importance as it comes just five months before the Olympic games in Beijing.

Although British Cycling’s Performance Director Dave Brailsford is playing down the British team’s chances in order to keep the pressure off his riders and staff, we’re expecting another medal rush like this one:
