Trailbreak is running a series of five cyclo-sportives which promise to be taxing but not over the top this season, beginning next weekend (April 22) at Princes Risborough. Further events are Milton Keynes (June 17); Woodcote, Oxon (August 5); Leathley, Yorks (August 19) and Gatwick, Sussex (Oct 21).

Each event in the ?Sunday Sportive? series offers a choice between a 120-150km full sportive and a 90-110km mid-length ride. Some of the events will also run a short 50km route for sportive novices or those who simply don?t want to spend hours in the saddle.

Trailbreak’s Martin Harrison said: ?For the sportive veteran, the Sunday Sportives aren?t designed as a main season target. Rather they?re a great way to maintain and build form and motivation for your big season challenges. But they?re ideal for newcomers too ? the shorter routes make them a perfect stepping stone into the sport.?

Each event will be fully signed, feature drinks stations and vehicle back-up, and use electronic timing.

After a successful inaugural running in 2006, Trailbreak will again promote the Southern Sportive this year on September 9. It has already sold 600 entries and is expecting a sell-out field of 800.
