September 9, 2007 – make a space in your diary! Online entry for this year’s edition of the Trans-Cambrian Cyclo-Sportive has just opened, and you’re going to have to be quick to get a place as there are only 500 on offer.

Organised by Clive Powell Mountain Bikes, the 87-mile ride takes in the slopes and quiet roads of the Cambrian Mountains in central Wales, starting and finishing in Rhayader. The route climbs up 500m to the Star Inn, then on to Machynlleth and the coast before meandering back through the mountains and lakes of the stunning Elan Valley.

In his write-up of the 2006 edition of the Trans-Cambrian for Cycling Weekly, top coach and former pro Dave Lloyd said: “It’s a great day, a great ride, a great route and a superbly organised, well thought out sportive. A big ?up? to Clive Powell and his band of helpers. Job well done.”

Entry for the event is £17, which includes food and drink provided en route.
