Trek-Segafredo search for Fabian Cancellara's 'party-crashing' fan - and not in a sinister way

Trek-Segafredo want to find the fan that crashed Fabian Cancellara's Strade Bianche celebrations, but assure us they want to reward him, not get him arrested

Trek-Segafredo and Fabian Cancellara are attempting to track down the fan who crashed his celebration after winning Strade Bianche on Saturday.

The fan, dressed in black, hugged and jumped up and down with the Swiss rider as he expressed his emotions after winning a third Strade Bianche title.

Trek's initial post on Twitter sounded quite sinister, making some people assume that he'd made off with Cancellara's power metre or some other expensive piece of equipment.

But they worked to reassure Twitter users that they actually want to reward the chap for being in the right place at the right time.

They may not have to look much further, as several commenters pointed out that the guy in question may be Siena resident and cycling superfan David Pullano, who posted images of Strade Bianche and his minutes in the spotlight on his Facebook page.

"Yesterday was simply amazing," he wrote on March 6.

It'll be interesting to see what his reward from Trek-Segafredo will be, having assured everyone that they don't want to have him arrested...
