Here at Time Inc (UK), we produce the country's most-read cycling content across Cycling Weekly and Cycling Active magazines, the Cycling Weekly website and our video production hub. And right now we're hiring for four positions across the group.

Could you lead our fitness team as it sets the agenda for authoritative, useful, inspiring advice for cyclists? Could you break exclusive news stories and manage contacts across the international and domestic scenes? Could you test new bikes and accessories to destruction? Then listen up – because if you're talented, hard-working and passionate about cycling, this is your big chance to step up as Fitness EditorNews EditorFitness Writer or Tech Writer.

All positions are full-time. Our office is currently located in Croydon, but from June 2016 we will relocate to Farnborough, Hampshire. Limited home-working may be considered, but all of these roles are predominantly office-based.

Fitness Editor, Cycling Weekly/Cycling Active

This key role involves leading a team of writers, office based and freelance, to produce informative, insightful and entertaining fitness content tailored to each of our channels. Planning and delivery of content in good time is crucial.

The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of cycling as a sport and pastime, and preferably qualifications in sports science and / or coaching. They will need to have experience as a writer, and in commissioning and editing content for print and online.

A well as working to fulfil requirements of our print brands they will also take a leading role in the production of videos and other fitness-related content for the Cycling Weekly website.

Key requirements:

  • Proven writing, editing and commissioning experience
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of all aspects of road cycling
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Understanding of content needs for different platforms: print, online, video
  • Idea generation to initiate, create and develop industry-leading, up-to-date content
  • Good planning and organisational skills
  • Great visual skills to recognise good design, page layout and imagery
  • Science background

Our fitness writers produce informative, insightful and entertaining content on training, nutrition, injury prevention and technical skills across print, online and video.

The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of cycling as a sport and pastime, and preferably qualifications in sports science and / or coaching. They will need to have experience as a writer for print and online publications.

A well as working to fulfil requirements of our print brands they will also take a leading role in the production of videos and other fitness-related content for the Cycling Weekly website.

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of all aspects of road cycling
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines

News Editor, Cycling Weekly

The successful candidate will lead a team of writers – office based and freelance – to produce breaking, informative, up-to-date news content from around the world.

The ideal candidate will be experienced in writing, commissioning and editing news content, preferably with a sporting background. A strong knowledge of British and international cycle sport is essential, while previous experience would be preferred.

As well as working to fulfill requirements of our print brand they will also work closely with CW’s web team to ensure the website remains the go-to site for up-to-the-minute news, while also liaising with the video team to create entertaining content to complement our written articles and push into new areas.

Travel (mainly to events) is included in the role, mainly in the UK and to mainland Europe but also with opportunities further afield.

Key requirements

  • Proven news writing, editing and commissioning experience
  • Good knowledge and understanding of domestic and international cycle sport
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Understanding of content needs for different platforms: print, online, video
  • Good planning, organisational and management skills
  • Ability to build and maintain relevant and reliable contacts
  • Clean driving licence

Tech Writer, Cycling Weekly/Cycling Active

Working as part of our road tech team, our tech writers test bikes and products, report on new launches and provide authoritative buying advice to our readers, visitors and viewers.

The successful candidate will be passionate and hugely knowledgeable about cycling technology. Strong spelling and grammar are essential, while previous writing experience would be preferred.

Our tech writers move effortlessly between our print brands, website and video, developing a strong understanding of how different content types and approaches work across different channels.

  • Good knowledge and understanding of cycling technology
