Sir Bradley Wiggins will line-up for this year's British National Track Championships at the end of the September, 14 years after he won his last medal at the competition.

The UCI Hour Record holder has only ever taken one senior national title, the 50k Madison in 1999 alongside Rob Hayles, with his only other medal coming in the shape of a bronze in the 4km individual pursuit in 2000.

Since then things have clearly been downhill for Wiggins, with just the six world titles and three Olympic gold medals on the track as consolation.

The 35-year-old will come up against his own Team Wiggins teammate Andy Tennant as he competes in the individual pursuit, while fellow Wiggins riders Steven Burke and Owain Doull will also be pit against each other along with JLT-Condor's Ed Clancy in the men's endurance events.

2012 Tour de France winner Wiggins will be looking to continue his form as he builds up to a return to the the track at the Olympics in Rio 2016, having already teamed up with Mark Cavendish (Etixx - Quick-Step) at the recent Revolution Series round in Derby in the Madison event. Wiggins is also likely to fly out to Cali in Colombia for the first round of the UCI Track World Cup in October.

Laura Trott is the leading name in the women's endurance events, but the likes of Joanna Rowsell, Sarah Storey, Elinor Barker and Katie Archibald are also down to compete.

The British National Track Championships take place between September 25 and 27 at the Manchester Velodrome. You can find out more details about the race schedule and buying tickets at the British Cycling website.
