Bradley Wiggins pursuit world champ

Bradley Wiggins successfully defended his pursuit world title tonight in Manchester, beating surprise package Jenning Huizenga to the gold medal.

It is Wiggins' third world title in this discipline and confirms his status as the world's number one pursuiter. Huizenga, who qualified faster than Wiggins in this afternoon's session, started faster, but by the end of the first kilometre Wiggins was back in control.
