We look at what you can look forward to from the Wiggle Black Friday deals

If your cycling wardrobe is looking a little tired, then the Wiggle Black Friday deals that will be available on the 25 November might be the perfect way to stock up ahead of Christmas and the New Year.

Wiggle Black Friday deals: when will they be available?

There might still be a little time to go until Black Friday, but Wiggle already has a page with a countdown to the big day, which we expect will be updated with some pretty eye-catching deals when the time comes.

For the last few years, the best Wiggle Black Friday deals have actually started to become available in the days running up to the day itself.

For example for Black Friday 2015, Wiggle started releasing deals from 23 November, the Monday before Black Friday, and steadily brought more deals throughout the week before letting loose the full force of their deals at 00:01 on the day itself.

However, this year it appears that the full force of the Wiggle Black Friday deals will only be released on Black Friday itself, with the company’s countdown page timed to hit zero at midnight on 25 November.

The good news is that Wiggle Black Friday doesn’t stop there, with all of the deals being available through the weekend, with fresh deals appearing on the site on Cyber Monday a few days later.

Wiggle Black Friday deals: what to expect

In 2015, Wiggle’s Black Friday deals included a huge selection of bargains on bikes, clothing, and equipment, with discounts of more than 50% not uncommon. For example this Mekk Poggio 1.6 was reduced from £1099.99 to £550, while a Scicon AeroComfort 2.0 bike bag was reduced from £475 to £199.98.

For Black Friday 2016, expect Wiggle to offer some even bigger deals than in 2015, with a lot of focus on gadgets. That could mean that products from Garmin could be even more heavily discounted than they are already, but the biggest savings could be on gadgets from other brands such as Suunto, TomTom and Polar.

Other than that there should be deals across the board, with Black Friday being the perfect time for picking up bargains on end-of-season 2016 kit that will have you fully kitted out for 2017 with plenty of time to spare.

What is Black Friday?

For consumers and retailers in the UK, Black Friday is a recent phenomenon, but it has been going strong the United States for decades.

Black Friday is the first Friday after Thanksgiving (which in 2016 is 25 November), and is traditionally seen as the start of the Christmas shopping season, with high street retailers opening their doors at the crack of dawn and offering big discounts for shoppers who have set their alarm clocks.

The rise of internet shopping has allowed the Black Friday tradition to spread throughout the world, with the UK’s bike retailers like Wiggle, Chain Reaction Cycles, Evans Cycles, and Halfords all getting caught up in the scramble to get shoppers to part with their cash.
