Cycling Weekly has two pairs of tickets to win for next Thursday’s showing of Chasing Legends, the acclaimed new film about the stars of HTC-Columbia at the 2009 Tour de France.


The first pair for Twitter users are for the showing at the O2 in London, after which a celebrity Q&A session starring Mark Cavendish will be taking place, along with Phil Liggett and the film’s director, Jason Berry.



The second pair for Facebook users will be for the showings at 50 UK cinemas (subject to availability) where the celebrity Q&A will be broadcast from the O2 following the film. There’s a list of the cinemas showing Chasing Legends on Thursday here.



In addition, there will be a signed copy each of Mark Cavendish’s book “Boy Racer”.

Chasing Legends, the acclaimed documentary about the Tour de France, is being released in 50 sites across the UK and Ireland for one night only on October 21st, accompanied by a Q&A session beamed live via satellite from London’s O2 Cinema.



New participants just announced to be joining the Q&A session after the film include HTC-Columbia team member Bernie Eisel, team manager Rolf Aldag and sporting director Brian Holm, who will join Mark Cavendish and commentator Phil Liggett on the stage at the O2. All of them feature prominently in the film, and will be talking with Chasing Legends director Jason Berry after the screening.



Jason Berry, the film’s director said of the screening events: “This will be the first time I’ve spent time in central London and I cannot think of a better reason for being there.”



He continued: “I’m very excited at the collaborative effort that made this event happen and look forward to the world seeing deeper into the Tour than ever before. The film isn’t just for cycling fans, and to have our film displayed all across the UK and Ireland for all kinds of audiences to see is an honour.”

Fans in London can book tickets to attend the screening at The O2 Greenwich where the Q&A will be held by going to the Cineworld site.



‘Chasing Legends’ documents the intense journey through the most arduous bike race on the planet, the Tour de France, and follows the story of the 2009 Team HTC-Columbia from the Monaco Prologue into the Pyrenees, via the Alps and finally into Paris. Narrated by Phil Liggett, the film features a cast of the sport’s most venerated heroes, including Eddy Merckx and Lance Armstrong, as well as stars of today including George Hincapie and Jens Voigt.



The film delves into the rich history, passion and true grit of The Tour, as seen through the eyes of Team HTC-Columbia and protagonist sprinter Mark Cavendish, and shows the highs, lows, triumphs and tragedies of those that make it through three long weeks of blood, sweat and tears to the fanfare and glory that awaits on the Champs Elysees.



Using totally original footage and a stunning array of HD cameras mounted on bikes, cars, helicopters and helmets, Chasing Legends takes viewers inside the pro peloton on a roller coaster ride of action, history and emotion. The movie tracks the humble but no-less heroic origins of ‘Le Tour’, from the inaugural 1903 event to what has become the modern-day epic, turning Team HTC-Columbia ‘inside out’ during the 2009 Tour



Presented in stunning 2k digital cinema, with a fully orchestrated original soundtrack composed by Haik Naltchayan, Chasing Legends, already acclaimed in the US, will be shown in cinemas for one night only, on Thursday 21st October.



The Gripped Films production is being distributed by Arts Alliance Media, in association with Evans Cycles and Creative Direction.
