American Garmin-Cervelo professional cyclist David Zabriskie has provided his voice for Garmin’s nüvi satellite navigation system.

‘Captain America’ has added his spoken commands to other optional voices including Wallace and Grommit, Yoda and Spongebob Squarepants.

At the end of November, users will be able to download the voice pack from the Garmin website and add it to their device. Garmin-Cervelo team vehicle icons are already available to download as part of the Team Garmin Bundle.

In a video posted online by Garmin this week (see below), Zabriskie is filmed recording direction commands for the sat nav system, including showing off his not inconsiderable singing talents.

The 32-year-old is well known for his humour and frequently publishes blogs on his life as a pro via his personal website.

Zabriskie enjoyed something of a return to form this season, winning individual time trial stages in the Tour of Romandie and Tour of California as well as assisting Garmin to the squad’s first ever team time trial on stage two of the Tour de France.

Zabriskie later crashed out of the Tour with a fractured wrist and had to be represented at the final team award presentation in Paris by a cardboard cut-out.

Previously, the man from Salt Lake City has won stages in all three Grand Tours and has won the US Pro time trial championships on six occasions.

Garmin-Cervelo will be holding its official 2012 team presentation in Boulder, Colorado, USA, on November 17.
