Storey and Pendleton at the Glamour Awards

Beijing medallists Sarah Storey and Victoria Pendleton attended the 2009 GLAMOUR magazine Women of the Year Awards held at Berkeley Square Gardens, London.

Alongside sailors Sarah Webb and Pippa Wilson, they collected an award on behalf of the women's teams who brought home gold from the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Beijing last year.

Rubbing shoulders with other award winners Kylie Minogue and Katy Perry, the girls enjoyed a star-studded evening at an event widely regarded as one of the most glamorous of the year. Jenson Button was also at the awards, presenting the final award to Kylie Minogue who was crowned Woman of the Year as well as Entrepreneur of the Year.

"It was truly jaw dropping," said Sarah as she left with her husband and fellow Beijing gold medallist Barney. "We were sat close to the stage and just outside the exit to the press call for all the award winners and saw so much well known talent in such a short space of time, we were pinching ourselves!

"It was an honour to pick up the award on behalf of the other women in our teams and very exciting to meet Kylie, especially as she played at the opening and closing ceremonies of the Sydney Games!"

Sarah, who recently placed third at the national 10-mile time trial championships, is busy in the middle of a hectic road season, with the 25-mile time trial championships this Sunday, as well as the national criterium and road race national championships to look forward to before the end of the month.
