Simon Richardson Career profile
Former mountain biker Simon Richardson quickly made a name for himself on the road after making the switch in 2007. Eight podium places in major UK races last season showed the Bristolian has the legs to compete in the Premier Calendar.
The 2005 under-23 British MTB champion debuted for GB as a junior in 2001 and has represented his country off-road in World Cups, World Championships and Commonwealth Games. He finished 4th overall in the 2008 Premier Calendar series.
Richardson stepped up a gear in 2009 with an impressive overall win in the Ras; the Bristolian then moved to pastures new with a move to Sigma Sport for the 2010 season, where he kick-started the year with his first Premier Calendar win at the Tour of the Reservoir.
