Jamie Staff career profile
Jamie Staff began his career riding BMX, but aspired to win an Olympic medal. As it was not an Olympic sport at that point, Staff turned to the track and qualified instantly for the GB Cycling Team, going on to win a gold in the team pursuit at the 2002 Worlds, only a year after taking up track riding.

After many near-misses at World Championship and Olympic level, Staff was finally rewarded for his many years of dedication and hard work at the Beijing Olympics in 2008, where he was part of the gold medal-winning track sprint team, setting the fastest ever lap.

Staff retired from track racing in 2010, and took a position as track sprint coach for USA Cycling.
