SWIFT DUO IMPRESS IN CZECH REPUBLIC
The British Swift Racing duo of Helen Wyman and Gabriella Day impressed on Sunday at the second round of the women’s cyclo-cross World Cup in Tabor, Czech Republic.

Wyman finished 11th (at 1:52) with Day in 22nd (at 4:35), behind some formidable opposition, including race-winner Hanka Kupfernagel of Germany.

Kupfernagel extended her lead in the World Cup with her win on Sunday, with Wyman and Day now lying 12th and 17th respectively in the standings.

COUTTS IN JAPAN
Britain’s Alex Coutts rode well in the 1.HC Japan Cup on Sunday.

The Giant Asia rider finished a more than respectable 16th, 3:35 behind race-winner, Damiano Cunego.

Coutts benefitted from Braveheart funding and used it to make a name for himself riding in Belgium, before joining the Taiwanese Giant Asia team.

BRITS IN INVITATIONAL KEIRIN
Four British riders will take to the start of the invitational keirin race this coming weekend at the first round of the track World Cup in Manchester.

Britons Ross Edgar, Jason Kenny, Matthew Crampton and Craig Maclean will face some of the world’s top keirin riders in front of a home crowd.

With £10,000 on offer to the winner, competition will be fierce.

BIG CHANGES FOR SWIFT
Britain’s Ben Swift has predicted “big changes” in moving from the GB Academy to the Russian super team, Katyusha in his blog for the BBC website.

“It’s [GB Academy] such a good programme, they arrange everything for you. But in the pro team you’ve got to do everything on your own – they tell you where to be and you’ve got to be there.

“I do feel very grateful for the opportunity, and excited to be part of a professional team, which for me is a dream come true! I’ve got the pro contract, now I want to get a start in a big race. Once I’ve got the chance, I want to put in a really good performance in whatever role I’m given, for the benefit of the team”.
