SKY+HD TEAM DEBUT AT MANCHESTER TRACK WORLD CUP

According to the official start list for the Manchester round of the UCI track world cup, the British Sky+HD track team will make its debut on the boards later this month.

British sprint specialists Victoria Pendleton, Ross Edgar, Jason Kenny and Jamie Staff are all listed as belonging to the Sky+HD trade team.

Sky stepped forward as official partners of Team Great Britain back in July, when British Cycling's Performance Director Dave Brailsford announced a sponsorship package from the satellite broadcasting giant. The Sky logo first appeared on Team GB road riders' kit during the World Championships in Varese, Italy, last month.

In addition to the Sky+HD sponsored riders, Great Britain fields a very strong team in national colours which includes Olympians Steven Burke, Ed Clancy, Geraint Thomas, Chris Newton and Wendy Houvenahgel.

Although triple Olympic gold medallist Chris Hoy is not riding - he'll be riding the Munich Six the following week - he will pop into the velodrome to make a couple of personal appearances.

The Manchester World Cup takes place from October 31 to November 2 at the National Velodrome, Manchester. The event sold out soon after tickets went on sale, but those wishing to watch the action needn't miss out - it'll be televised live in the evenings (from 7pm, Friday to Saturday) on BBC interactive with highlight shows on the terrestrial BBC channels in addition to live coverage of Sunday's racing (2-5pm).
