POSITIVE TEST FOR CYCLIST AT OLYMPIC GAMES

Cycling got the news it was dreading this morning, when the International Olympic Committee announced that Spain's Maria Moreno has failed a doping test.
Moreno, who had been one of the favourites for the women's road race, tested positive for EPO.
Moreno pulled out of the road race two days before the event, without explanation. The Spaniard had been one of the favourites, but it was reported that she had suffered an "anxiety attack". According to Mikel Zabala, technical director of the Spanish Cycling Federation, her reasons for pulling out were "personal".
She was tested on July 31, and apparently left Beijing the same day, without waiting for the result to come back. The IOC have expelled Moreno from the games, and she now faces sanction by the UCI.
