Ben Swift finished fourth in the European Championships under-23 road race in Italy today (Saturday).

Swift and his Great Britain team-mate Peter Kennaugh, who was second in the British National Road Race Championship last Sunday, were at the front of the race all day on a roasting hot day in Italy.

Swift finished third in the bunch sprint of 25 riders after a Frenchman got away to claim the gold medal.
