The Slipstream team presented new sponsor Garmin and unveiled the new jersey in Brest on Thursday ahead of the Tour de France start on Saturday.

The new jersey still includes some argyle but is mainly white and blue with the Garmin logo across the chest.

British Garmin-Chipotle rider David Millar was on hand to model the new jersey.

“I think new jersey and new colours and new sponsor Garmin is very representative of how far we’ve traveled and where we are now. I think we’re a very prominent team in world cycling and I think we’re carrying an important message. I hope we can be at the front in this Tour de France and be protagonists in the whole race. It’s not a new start for us but I think it’s another step up the ladder of our success.”

"I think we’re starting the Tour de France in the perfect position. We’re extreme happy with how we’ve worked and the form that we have. Now we want to enjoy it, have fun and be part of it. It’s been a huge goal for us and the ‘raison d’etre’. Now it’s just the beginning, It’s just that we’re here and that’s good enough, now we want to show off our new kit.”

Team manager Jonathan Vaughters proudly unveiled the new jersey along with John Casset, Vice-President of marketing for Garmin.

“This is pretty important moment for our team," Vaughters said.

"We’ve slowly but surely been rising through the ranks for a number of years now, and slowly, methodically and very conscientiously we’ve been looking for a partner that we felt was great for what our team is and has the innovation we try to put into everything. So we’re really happy today to be saying we have a new title sponsor for Tour de France and for the next two years in Garmin.”

“We’re going to be using their new and interesting technology in the next few weeks and that going to go forward in the future and we’re going to try and bring an interesting aspect to cycling for the public using GPS technology, and also a tactical and strategically advantage to the team using GPS technology.”
