ZERO GRAVITY NEGATIVE G
We recently reviewed the Zero Gravity Ti calipers (CW Oct 25), concluding that such a lightweight design was great for weight fetishists and whippets, but you had to accept compromises in power and performance.
But what if you could have the best of both worlds? It seems like a big ask of Zero Gravity’s designers, but responding to feedback, it was back to the drawing board and the new Negative Gs are the result. Titanium hardware and Swiss Stop pads remain, helping keep the weight down to 231g a pair, still 50g lighter than Record and 80g less than Dura-Ace.
What’s new is an obvious focus on stiffness in search of that bit of missing power and clearly the Negative Gs have gained some bulk in critical areas, with an appearance very much like the Ti calipers on steroids. There is little reason to doubt that performance should be much improved with the new design, but there is still the outlay of £295 to consider.
