News agency Reuters have reported on Sunday that Floyd Landis appeal against a doping ban will be heard in the Court of Arbitration for Sport [CAS] on March 19.
Landis lawyer Maurice Suh told Reuters that they are “optimistic” about the appeal.
The American’s appeal represents his last chance to end a two year ban for doping that cost him his 2006 Tour de France title. Spaniard Oscar Pereiro was awarded the win when Landis was stripped of victory.
The CAS appeal is also almost certainly the final episode in a courtroom saga that has dragged on ever since Landis was reported to have used synthetic testosterone during the 2006 race.
