COOKE MAKES SUCCESSFUL RETURN TO TRAINING
Nicole Cooke has successfully returned to training following the keyhole surgery operation on her knee which kept her out of the World Championships this September.
“My knee is doing fine and I’m able to ride my bike now without any problems.” Cooke told CW.
The Raleigh-Lifeforce team leader said that she was “not doing a huge amount of riding, at this time of year I wouldn’t be doing big training sessions anyway.”
“A couple of hours a day for October is enough and it’s all going well.”
Cooke was not able to perform at top level in the final round of the World Cup mid-September when defending her overall lead in the series because of the knee injury. Cooke could not train for ten days before the last round and the series was taken by Dutchwoman Marianne Vos.
Cooke then missed out on the World Championships because of the operation on her injured knee.
