Magnus Backstedt will finally take part in racing again after a long period spent battling a major shoulder injury , his team announced on Friday.
The Liquigas rider will take part in the Tour of Castilla and Leon, a Spanish six-day race running from March 25th - 30th.
Barring a couple of days racing in the Tour of Mallorca where Backstedt suffered badly from his shoulder injury, Castilla-Leon will be the Swede’s first road-race since last autumn and is effectively his season debut for 2007.
The press release describes Backstedt’s return as the “first stage in a build-up for Paris-Roubaix.” which Backstedt won back in 2004.
