EALING Borough, acclaimed by the London Green Party for their “Direct Support for Cycling Programme” say their project faces the axe if a £70,000 budget cut required by Transport for London (TfL) goes ahead.

Ealing’s cycling officer Bob Davies says: “They (TfL) say that we don't have a proper programme of Direct Support for Cycling, despite having run one successfully with TfL finance for a number of years.”

Cycling Weekly has learned that TfL take a dim view of Ealing using the money to pay Cycle Training UK Ltd instead of employing their own safety officers.
