WIGGINS SMASHES BRITISH 10 RECORD

Cofidis professional Bradley Wiggins set a new British time trial competition record over 10 miles on Saturday, September 16.

Wiggins posted a time of 17 minutes and 58 seconds on the fast Levens course in South Cumbria during a Wigan Wheelers event, taking 21 seconds off the existing record set by Stuart Dangerfield in 2001.

Despite his obvious form, Wiggins has elected not to ride the World Championships in Salzburg, Austria, citing fatigue after a heavy 2006 race schedule as the reason. He is next scheduled to ride in the British track national championships, October 3-7.
