ARMSTRONG AVOIDS TOUR DE FRANCE
Lance Armstrong has changed his mind and announced he will not visit this year’s Tour de France.
The seven-time winner had previously announced he would be in France for the final week of the Tour as a VIP guest but has now changed his plans.
There is a remote chance he will make it for the last weekend, when the three-week race ends in Paris, but Armstrong revealed he is just too busy with television and charity engagements to make it to France.
"I'll watch it on TV but I'm not trying to make a statement. I'm already traveling a lot next month," Armstrong told Texan journalist Suzanne Halliburton, denying his on-going spat with the World Anti-Doping chief Dick Pound and with French newspaper L’Equipe had influenced his decision.
