Tickets for the popular Revolution Series went on sale this week, spurring an early demand from cycling fans looking to secure entry into Season 7 events, which sold out at every race last season.

In testament to the success and popularity of track cycling, Season 6 saw over 4,000 tickets sell out in advance at every single one of the four events. With Britain’s Olympic stars now recognised as household names, Revolution organisers expect Season 7 to be just as popular. The performances of Mark Cavendish and Bradley Wiggins in the 2009 Tour de France look set to prolong the period that cycling remains in the limelight.

With the upcoming UCI Track World Cup at Manchester almost sold out over three days, Revolution event organisers FACE expect a huge demand for tickets in the lead up to the events. “The interest in track cycling following the Beijing Olympics doesn’t seem to have abated,” said FACE Managing Director James Pope. “The Velodrome and the Revolution ticket line have been receiving large volumes of calls every day with people wanting to know when they can get tickets for the new season.”

“But we are not going to rest on our laurels and are already checking the availability of riders like Chris Hoy, Victoria Pendleton and Mark Cavendish to ensure we achieve the same level of star quality as previous seasons. We will also have some exciting new developments to the race format as we aim to keep this new cycling audience as hooked as our loyal fan base.”

The Revolution provides entertainment for newcomers, sports fans and seasoned cycling followers alike. The unique blend of evening entertainment, incredible atmosphere and fast track racing has made the Revolution one of the most successful cycling events on the calendar.
