PARTRIDGE BLOGS FROM IRELAND
Welsh champion Rob Partridge will be blogging exclusively for Cycling Weekly from the Tour of Ireland. The Halfords Bikehut man from Wrexham is looking forward to taking on Mark Cavendish, Lance Armstrong and co in the three day tour starting in Powerscourt today (Friday, August 21).
Partridge recently notched up his third Premier Calendar podium finish of the year, taking third spot at the Tour of Pendle, and has been honing his late-season form at a pre-Ireland training camp with the squad in Cumbria.
The seven-man Halfords team for Ireland also features former British champion Rob Hayles, Olympic gold medallist Ed Clancy and strongman Ian Wilkinson.
ITV SHOW IRISH TOUR
Highlights of the opening Tour of Ireland stage from Powerscourt to Waterford will be on ITV4 at 7pm on Friday. Saturday's show starts at 8pm, with a 7pm start on Sunday.
TOUR OF BRITAIN CHARITY RIDE
One thousand riders will get the opportunity to ride a closed-road central London course before the final Tour of Britain stage on Saturday, September 19.
The Prostate Cancer Charity London Ride features an 18km circuit taking in all the main sights of the Capital in the company of actor Damian Lewis and former England rugby captain Will Carling whilst raining funds for charity.
Mark Cavendish has given his support to the event, saying: "Cycling through London with the pros on an official race course will be an unbelievable experience and I want to encourage as many people as possible to register for The London Ride, while fundraising for a vital cause.”
The London Ride will feature in the Tour of Britain programme scheduled to appear on ITV4 the same evening.

BARLOWORLD BRITS COME CLOSE IN ITALY
Steve Cummings and Geraint Thomas placed fourth and fifth respectively in the 91st edition of the Coppa Bernocchi, won by Luca Paolini of Aqua & Sapone.
Cummings finished second in last year's Tour of Britain and is expected to be looking to go one better in September. Thomas is back to good form after a lengthy lay-off following a fractured pelvis and complications arising from a broken wrist sustained early in the season at Terreno-Adriatico.
The Barloworld pair are among 14 British riders competing for nine places in the World championship road race in Mendrisio, Switzerland, on September 27. A long list of 11 riders is due to be selected on August 17, with the final nine chosen ten days prior the championships.
FLEEMAN IN LIMOUSIN
Cervélo's Dan Fleeman was in 80th position in the four-day Tour du Limousin going into Friday's final 180km stage to Limoges. Team-mate Xavier Florencio currently lies third, 29 seconds behind leader David Arroyo (Caisse d'Epargne).
