Bradley Wiggins is scheduled to ride the Tour of Britain (September 12-19) for Garmin-Slipstream.

The 29-year-old finished fourth in the Tour de France and returned to action at the ENECO Tour in Holland and Belgium this week after a brief break. He has been named in Garmin's provisional team for the Tour of Britain.

Cervélo TestTeam is another squad that has been added to the Tour of Britain's start list, although contrary to information released by the race organisers it looks unlikely that Roger Hammond will ride. Hammond, along with Ireland's Philip Deignan are on the provisional start list for the Vuelta a Espana, which starts at the weekend and overlaps with the Tour of Britain.

However, British riders Jeremy Hunt and Dan Fleeman are set to be on the start line in Scunthorpe on September 12.

As well as Garmin and Cervélo, Euskatel-Euskadi and Vacansoleil have been confirmed as the latest participants for the Tour of Britain. Vacansoleil are set to bring Aussie sprinter Baden Cooke, a former winner of the green jersey in the Tour de France.

There's likely to be a strong British presence in the race, with Barloworld likely to select Chris Froome, Steve Cummings and Geraint Thomas, plus the home teams CandiTV, Rapha-Condor and Halfords Bikehut all confirmed.

Mark Cavendish, a former Tour of Britain stage winner, will not be present as he will be riding the Tour of Missouri in the USA, which is a big objective for his sponsor, Columbia-HTC.

The following teams have now been confirmed for the Tour of Britain:

AG2R-La Mondiale (France)
Agritubel (France)
Barloworld (Britain)
CandiTV-Marshalls Pasta (Britain)
CSF Group Navigare (Ireland)
Rapha-Condor (Britain)
Columbia-HTC (USA)
Halfords Bikehut (Britain)
Topsport Vlaanderen-Mercator (Belgium)
Cervélo TestTeam (Switzerland)
Euskaltel-Euskadi (Spain)
Garmin-Slipstream (USA)
Vacansoleil (Netherlands)
