Organisers of the Circuit of Kent cyclo-sportive, due to take place on Sunday September 13, have now closed entries for the event as it's full to capacity.
The ever-popular sportive based in Sevenoaks, Kent, has a start list of 820 riders - up from 750 riders last year. The Circuit of Kent was Britain's first cyclo-sportive, and is now in its 13th year.
The event is run by Sevenoaks Amherst Rotary Club to benefit several charities. Last year, the event raised in excess of £30,000 for Hospice in the Weald and Macmillan Cancer Support.
This year, that total looks likely to be smashed - a team of 35 riders from Octopus Investments in London have already signed up sponsorship of £25,000!
Two lengths of ride are available - 80km and 140km. All starters' names will be entered into a prize draw for a 2010 Specialized Allez road bike worth £600, donated by Wildside Cycles, Tunbridge Wells. The bike will be presented to the winner after the event by Cheryl Baker of eighties supergroup Bucks Fizz.
