Organisers of the Mayor of London's Skyride, due to take place on Sunday September 20, have issued a map of the ride's route.

The 15km route takes in some of London's most well-known landmarks as it travels down Victoria Embankment by the River Thames. The ride starts and finishes on The Mall.

All of the roads used will be closed to traffic from 10am to 4pm on the day of the ride. Mayor of London Boris Johnson will be there taking part in the ride.

As well as the ride itself, entertainment will be laid on in St James' Park, so even if you are not riding there's plenty to keep you busy. Entry to the ride and entertainment is completely free - just turn up and enjoy yourself.

The Mayor of London's Skyride was formerly known as the London Freewheel. Last year the event attracted 50,000 riders.

The London event is the last of five Skyrides which have so far taken place in Manchester, Hounslow, Glasgow and Leicester. The events were conceived by British Cycling and Sky as a way of getting more people out on bikes.
