Cycle 2009 - the UK's biggest bike show - kicks off on Friday, October 9.

Cycle 2009 is open to the public from Friday October 9 to Sunday October 11 at Earls Court, London.

Tour winner Contador confirmed for show
Tour de France champion Alberto Contador will be at Cycle 2009 on Friday, October 9, as a guest of Science in Sport (Stand E33). The triple grand tour winner will be in attendance from 11.30am.

Sabbath cycles launches three new models at Cycle 2009
British manufacturer Sabbath Bicycles has chose Cycle 2009 to launch three new models for 2010. The Silk Emperor will be Sabbath's top model, using a 'radical' new version of the company's trademark titanium frameset.
Sabbath are also making in-roads into burgeoning sportive-specific bike market with the Silk Road Alp, and a touring model, the Silk Route.
To celebrate the new models, Sabbath will be giving away vouchers at the show entitling you to receive £100 off any 2010 Sabbath model at their dealers.

Rees to attempt 1,000 miles at show
Race Across America (RAAM) veteran Jim Rees is going to attempt to ride 1,000 miles on a static Wattbike trainer during this year's Cycle show in Earls Court, London (October 9-11).
Rees intends to ride 250 miles per day (including Thursday's media day on October 8), as well as aiming for the 24 hour continuous cycling record.
"I enjoy being a normal guy who achieves things that people think aren't possible," said Rees. "If you have the right mindset you can achieve anything, and through the things I do and say, I hope I can influence people positively, particularly children.
"I am a big supporter of the Cycle Show and I wanted to have a go at a tough challenge to also help benefit the Wallace and Gromit Foundation, which helps very sick children."
