Roger Hammond, Vuelta a Espana 2009, stage 10

Britain's Roger Hammond (Cervelo) has come fourth in Thursday's Paris-Bourges in France. Columbia-HTC's André Greipel took the win.

Hammond had been attempting to lead-out Cervelo team-mate Martin Reimer in the 193.5km race's fast finale. Reimer lost the Brit's wheel, so Hammond went for it himself.

Hammond's top five finish comes on the back of second and third places during the final two stages of the four-day Circuit Franco-Belge last week. Hammond finished third overall in the race.

Juan José Haedo (Saxo Bank) was second in Paris-Bourges, with Alexandre Usov (Cofidis) third.

Hammond's final race of the year will be Paris-Tours on Sunday, October 11.
