Revolution track series unveils new format

The Revolution track series will show off a completely new structure this winter as eight teams do battle over the four-race series.

The teams (listed below) are made up of young and old, endurance and sprint riders. Each team also has a big name rider to come in and race for them at least once in the series.

Bradley Wiggins will join the Slicks team, David Millar the Pacers, Sir Chris Hoy the Flyers while 2007 Paris-Roubaix winner Stuart O'Grady joins team Vitesse.

The attendance of Britain's top sprinters depends on this weekend's Track World Cup in Manchester as the likes of Sir Chris Hoy and Victoria Pendleton look to secure qualification for the world championships next spring. If they don't they are likely to travel to some of the other world cups in Cali (Colombia), Melbourne and Beijing which clash with the Revolutions.

Although the teams are currently all male, there will be plenty of women's racing going on during the series with expected appearances from Pendleton and Lizzie Armitstead. Whether or not they'll join the existing teams is yet to be confirmed, although organisers, Face Partnership have said more riders will join the teams.

More riders for the first event on November 14 are to be announced next week.
