Pendle the venue for 2010 Nationals
PENDLE THE VENUE FOR 2010 NATIONALS
Lancashire has been confirmed as the venue for next year's British national road race championships, acting as the temporary replacement for the Tour of Pendle.
Confirmed for Sunday June 27, the event will see over 300 riders flocking to Pendle for the event.
This year, the race caused disruption for the residents of Abergavenny although this is something the organisers are keen to avoid next year.
"We are making sure residents are inconvenienced as little as possible and know exactly what's happening," said James Starkie, Ward Councillor for Pendleside.
"There'll be the potential for residents to help provide refreshments, act as marshals and run stalls to support their villages," he added.

A CROSS NEW YEAR IN RUTLAND
The sixth and final round of the National Trophy cyclo-cross series returns to Rutland Water for the second running of the Rutland County International CiCLE Classic on Sunday, January 17.
Organiser Colin Clews promises a few Belgian riders to keep our top men on their toes, and a course featuring steps, dead turns, 'mini washboard' and a lakeside beach section to give the race that full-on Continental flavour.
Race director Clews said: "Having provided the ‘tools', we fully expect the riders to respond with perhaps the best and most hard fought racing of the Winter season so far, providing a wonderful showcase for both the sport of cyclo-cross and the Rutland Water venue."
The day of racing will give the British riders the first opportunity to show off their newly-won jerseys from the previous week's national championships in Birmingham.
The highlight of the cyclo-cross season, the World Championships in the Czech Republic, take place two weeks after the Rutland event.

MISSING BIKES IN BOGNOR REGIS
Cyclists are urged to be vigilant for missing bicycles that were recently stolen from a garage in the Bognor Regis area.
Among the items stolen was a Colnago E1 (one of only 150 in the country), a rare Peraccini and a Marin mountain bike.
Needless to say all bikes have great personal value.
A reward is being offered for any information leading to their return.
