It was another year of stunning British performances on the world and domestic stages of professional cycling.
The wins came flooding in for the Brits, with success across the board - one-day Classics, Grand Tours, stage races, track, cyclo-cross and mountain biking.
To honour the achievements of Britain's cyclists during 2009, we ran a countdown of the best 30 British riders of the year before Christmas with the final top six revealed in the December 31 issue of Cycling Weekly magazine.

I know that these days we have many excellent riders to choose from but I would have thought Julia Shaw's achievements this year (including 3 X comp records) should have earned her a place..
