Chris Froome, Team Sky, March 2010
An environmental group in Belgium has lodged an official complaint in Namur against Chris Froome following last week's Flèche Wallonne.
Froome is one of three riders - including Benjamin Gourge and Blel Kadri - who have been targetted by La Coalition Nature group for discarding empty water bottles at the side of the road.
The group argues that the three cyclists have criminally violated Walloon law and has filed a criminal complaint against the trio at the court in Namur.
The discarding of water bottles in professional cycling is a regular occurrence and many of them are collected by fans eager to acquire a souvenir.
