Bradley Wiggins will lead Team Sky's first foray into the grand tours when the Giro d'Italia gets underway with a prologue time trial in Amsterdam next Saturday (May 8).

The rest of the team is set to be confirmed shortly but it is set to be Steve Cummings, Morris Possoni, Dario Cioni, Chris Sutton, Greg Henderson, Mat Hayman, Michael Barry and Chris Froome, if the Kenyan-born rider recovers in time after his crash during the Tour of Romandie prologue.

If Froome is not fit enough to start, either Ian Stannard, Sylvain Calzati or Lars Petter Nordhaug will take his place.
