i have been watching the giro on eurosport and listening to the commentators expressing there dissatisfaction with the course in the early stages of a grand tour. It was the on the 3rd stage to Utrecht where there were so many crashes. I understand where they are coming from, however, these riders are professional and i take it they do their research on the course before riding it. Is there a standard to course layouts and what is the general opinion to what has occured?
