Giro d'Italia 2010, stage 16
After a much-needed rest day on Monday, the riders in the 2010 Giro d'Italia are chucked back in the deep end today with a 12.9km individual mountain time trial up Plan de Corones.
Sunshine and warm temperatures greeted the riders this morning, but it won't make their ascent of the fearsome 2,273 metre Plan de Corones any easier. The gradient hits 24 per cent in places, and the road is gravelly and rough.
Cycling Weekly's Gregor Brown took a selection of shots this morning to give you a taste of what the riders will be facing.
Cycling Weekly will be covering the action from stage 16 from 1pm on Tuesday, May 25>>
